CES is a means of DNA sequencing based on the Sanger method. Fragmented DNA is sequenced in parallel within an array of capillaries. Base pair calls are made by fluoresce labeling of oligonucleotides. The information from each capillary is compiled to generate the DNA sequence. CES is notable for its low cost per base sequenced.
