Arsenic Quick and Quick II Test Kits
The Arsenic Quick Test Kit detects soluble inorganic arsenic (As+3 and As+5) in aqueous samples. Inorganic arsenic compounds in the sample are converted to arsine (AsH3) gas by the reaction of zinc dust and tartaric acid. The arsine converts the mercuric bromide on the test strip to mixed mercury halogens (such as AsH2HgBr) that appear with a color change from white to yellow or brown. Potassium peroxymonosulfate is added to oxidize hydrogen sulfide to sulfate. CAUTION: Hydrogen gas and arsine gas are generated during the reaction. The product should be used in a well-ventilated area away from fire and other sources of ignition.
