BioToxin Assays
Acumen Detection’s patent-pending toxin assays deliver fluorescence based, near real-time, one-step detection. The assays also work on PCR platforms, eliminating the need for responders to carry a second instrument to the field to identify toxins. The toxin assays are run at a steady 37° C, and not thermal cycled. The assays are “open architecture”; can be run on virtually any qPCR platform. Positive and negative controls are provided.

Known Interferents/Inhibitors |
| Assays are formulated to be tolerant of
environmental contaminants (interferents) like dust, humic acid, salts, diesel exhaust, etc. As long as the sample is in an aqueous solution or suspension, our assays can accept it.
Extremely heavy inhibitor load in the samples resulting in false negative results.Non-specific proteases in the sample matrix creating false positives in the toxin assays. Negative control assays are provided to be run concurrent with our toxin assays. |
