Amperometric Sensor – Electrochemical Sensing Module

Amperometry in chemistry and biochemistry is detection of ions in a solution based on electric current or changes in electric current. The integrated chlorine module MESM 2402 measures the concentration of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in water using the principle of conventional amperometric technique. The device is a miniaturized three electrode cell consisting of a working-electrode (WE), a counter-electrode (CE) and a reference-electrode (RE). Amperometric Sensor technology was originally developed for detection of hypochlorous acid in drinking water and swimming pools. The technology was sold non-exclusively to a drinking water provider who manufactures complete systems for their own use. Microsens will manufacture a new batch of electrodes upon request.
