EX-DETECT™ Model XD-2 is a semi-automated colorimetric-based explosives detection system. Detection limits for explosive residue are in low nanogram levels. The XD-2 uses a combination of solutions and heat that are applied to the sample swipe material to produce a color change in the presence of explosives. The time required for the operator to obtain detection from 0 to 30 seconds.
