LCD 3.3 (JCAD)

The LCD 3.3 is a lightweight CWA and TIC detector. It alarms to gas and vapor threats detected and identified at or below immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) levels, by determining the agent or type, class, concentration and dosage of chemical exposure. The LCD 3.3 differs from the 3.2E in that it has a liquid crystal display. The military model is JCAD. The Solid Liquid Adapter (SLA) retro-fits onto the JCAD expanding its detection and identification capabilities to include explosives, non-traditional agents, and narcotics. The SLA consists of a probe with a swab consumable which heats and vaporizes encountered substances. The conversion from SLA to JCAD is reversible.
