CAM-2
The CAM-2 is a hand-held ion mobility spectrometer designed for detection of chemical warfare agent vapor. It is designed to be used in full IPE (Individual Protective Equipment) and may be decontaminated in the field. The CAM-2 can detect nerve (G, V), mustard (HD, HN3), blood, and choking agents; the default agent detection suite can be reprogrammed to detect hydrogen cyanide, phosgene, and chlorine. Agent results are displayed as either “G”, “BL” or “H”, along with a 6-bar thermometer-type response indicator. The CAM-2 cannot distinguish the specific agent producing the response. The role of the CAM-2 can be extended with the optional Field Alarm Module (FAM), which enables the CAM-2 to be used as a sentry alarm.
