HazmatCAD Plus
The HazmatCAD Plus combines the SAW and electrochemical sensors to monitor for CWAs and selected TICs. The SAW is coated with a polymer which is a sponge for certain chemicals. The SAW itself is sensitive to changes in mass. By using an array of SAW sensors, a fingerprint can be obtained for the chemical or chemical class. For the electrochemical sensor, the gas will diffuse a hydrophobic membrane into an aqueous electrolyte solution. In the electrolyte, the gas is oxidized or reduced releasing electrons which are collected and measured.
