CHAMELEON Armband Kits

The Chameleon is a wearable colorimetric chemical threat detector in an armband form factor. The armband has room for up to 10 colorimetric indicating cassettes that can detect a variety of threats. Pre-configured kits are available for HazMat, clan-meth lab and chemical suicide situations. Toxic chemicals in air are identified with a color system. If half of the sensor changes color, the chemical is present. The Chameleon can be worn on the forearm, upper arm or leg for hands-free detection of gases and vapors. The adjustable band with Velcro closure expands for wear outside most turnout gear or Level A suits. To use, the cassettes are inserted into the band, the band is attached to the arm or leg, and the user looks for a change in color of any of the cassette windows. The Chameleon is designed to meet U.S. Marine Corps requirements, and features a rugged design for use in excessively hot and cold conditions and in wet or dry environments. It can be submerged in water for up to one hour.
