InPhotote
The InPhotote is a Raman spectrometer system packaged in a portable carrying case. A frequency-stabilized laser, spectrograph, and TE-cooled CCD detector are integrated into the case. Most samples can be measured through packaging materials (i.e., glass and plastic) with the RamanProbe. The probe is compact and lightweight for hand-held use. Raman spectral data files are stored in Grams AI format and can be searched against reference libraries using SpecID. Two models are available: SR (short range): 250 to 1800 cm–1, 4 to 6 cm–1 resolution LR (long range): 250 to 2300 cm–1, 8 to 10 cm–1 resolution. The spectrometer is operated via separate laptop computer (supplied).

| Known Interferents/Inhibitors |
| Analysis of mixtures can produce erroneous search results unless the library contains a reference spectrum of the mixture itself. Fluorescence, either from the unknown, or a component or interferent in the unknown, can produce intense interference. The technique is sensitive to ambient infrared radiation. |
