Known Interferents/Inhibitors
Analysis of mixtures can produce erroneous search results unless the library contains a reference spectrum of the mixture itself. However, it is still capable of detecting a target in the presence of an unknown mixture. Fluorescence, either from the unknown, or a component or interferent in the unknown, can produce intense interference. The technique is sensitive to ambient infrared radiation.
