LaserScope

LaserScope™ utilizes a high brightness Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) point source. Its high spectral radiance results in rapid scanning with good signal to noise ratio (SNR) and high quality data from miniature samples. The high SNR for small samples equates to improved spectral quality at very high spatial resolution compared to an FTIR. The high spectral radiance can make it possible to analyze optically thick, highly diffusive, or very small samples. The minimum target size is essentially equivalent to the laser’s diffraction limit (approximately 6 µm at 1600 cm-1). The LaserScope can be retrofitted to most IR microscopes and can be combined with some visible light microscopes.
