Flow cytometry technology adapted for use with bacteria, yeast, mold, and others. Automated sample prep system, a fluidic system, a sample handling system, and an optical bench with data processing electronics, and software. The FACSMicroCount prepares samples by labeling with a nucleic acid dye and the BRAG3 labeling compound. The sample passes through the laser beam where individual microbes absorb, scatter, or transmit the laser light. Labeled bacteria will scatter the laser light as well as emit laser-induced fluorescence. A scatter and fluorescence intensity for each individual microbe is displayed for analysis. Licensed from Advanced Analytical Technologies, Inc which previously sold the instrument under the Micro Pro and RBD3000 names.
